Elmshorn, 13 October 2009
Today, with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony the construction of a state-of-the-art facility has officially been started in the attractive business park Gehrstücken, Pinneberg. The Vienna owner, Wilhelm Thomas Kapsch, personally turned the first sod, supported by the Pinneberger Mayoress Kristin Alheit, actively operating the excavator.
"We have put a high value on a low primary energy demand in the planning of our company building", said Dr Volker Henkel, executive director of Wenzel Elektronik. "Therefore, the energy concept provides a photovoltaic system and an environmentally friendly heating system based on renewable energy. In order to further improve the ecological balance, we add a rainwater utilization system."
Other components to complement the concept of energy conservation:
The construction will be built on an area of 1,600m ² with a gross floor area of over 3,000m ². The architectural office Reimer und Partner from Elmshorn is responsible for the building design and undertakes the construction supervision.
Also instrumental in the change of location is the excellent access to the public transport system and to the motorway as well. According to current plans Wenzel Elektronik will move from Elmshorn to Pinneberg in autumn 2010.
